This interactive test should help you decide whether you are eligible to apply for a Personal Licence. It is a general guide, and should not be considered as definitive.

(1) Are you personally proposing to sell, or authorise the sale of alcohol?
You will require a Personal Licence to sell/authorise sales of alcohol.
You may not need a Personal Licence. If you are the owner of a licensed premises you may employ a Designated Premises Supervisor, who must hold a Personal Licence, to sell/authorise sales of alcohol on your behalf.
(2) Have you obtained the Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders, or do you hold another relevant qualification?

(3) Are you over the age of 18?
Qualifies for Personal Licence application.

(4) Do you have any criminal convictions, either in the UK or abroad, for relevant offences?
Qualifies for Personal Licence application.

(5) Have you forfeited a Personal Licence in the last five years?
Qualifies for Personal Licence application.

(6) Do you have the right to live and work in the UK?
Qualifies for Personal Licence application.
